Itinerary for our Stirlingshire and Perthshire Tour:
We first visit Doune Castle which starred as Camelot in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Winterfell in Game of Thrones and Castle Leoch in Outlander TV series. Just next to it is Deanston Distillery which we can visit for an optional tour (interchangeable with the tour of the Drummond Castle Gardens later in the day).
After that, we stop for a short walk and break in the cosy village of Callander. We then go for a light hike with stunning views of Loch Voil and visit the old Balquhidder kirkyard – the final resting place of the famous Rob Roy MacGregor.
Next up are beautiful Drummond Castle Gardens – film set for the Rob Roy movie and Outlander TV series (interchangeable with the tour at Deanston Distillery earlier in the day). To finish the day we walk up to the National Wallace Monument to admire a panoramic view of Stirling. We combine it with the story of the Battle of Stirling Bridge – William Wallace’s greatest victory.
We’re always full of ideas (you can get to know us better here), but let us know if you have any specific interests or needs. We want you to have fun and we’ll adapt the tour for you!
